Principles
In a situation of practice, the roles of Uke and tori are of aqual importance and must be considered aqually seriously, for they represent the two undissociable sides of the situation with we are faced to study.
Each individual must also try to practise with as many partners as possible, representing human types different in age, size, sex or technical ability. It is very often tempting to practise with compatible partners, but it considerably restricts the limits of the experience you may have in the Dojo.
For the essence of any technique in Aikido lies in the use of the whole body to create a dynamic sphere around a stable energetic center point.
That's why practising with different partners having different techniques leads to enriching oneself with new sensations and thus to adapt quickly to different situations of attack.
We can observe that a well trained individual uses the attacker's own energy to take him to the ground with a minimum of mouvements, or to project him into the air in a spectacular way. This can be done thanks to the loss of balance of the attacker, by him into a sphere, this modifying his direction of attack by turning it against him.
