(b. 12 August 1928-17 October 2006). Began training in aikido in 1952 after first studying judo. Bonnefond became a staunch supporter of Nobuyoshi TAMURA and occupied various organizational offices before becoming the first president of the INTERNATIONAL AIKIDO FEDERATION. He served in this capacity from 1976-1984. Author of book in French on aikido (see bibl. ).
