Jean-Marc SERIO, a state diploma teacher started Aikido in 1978 with 1978 with Masamichi NORO in his dojo in Paris near gare du Nord.
Having been introduced to the books of the Master Morihiro SAITO (Traditional Aïkido was published in1973 and are now unfortunately out of stock), and the videos by the master, he attends an international session in July 1991, in Walpkraiburg (Germany), directed by this remarkable professor to study very concretely, the very rigorous and efficient techniques that had impressed him so much.
During this session he is introduced to Master Saito by Paolo Corallini, an Italian professor, 7th Dan Iwama Ryu (with Ulf Evenas from Sweden, he is of the two most qualified students of Saito Sensei in Europe), responsible for Iwamaschool in Italy and Europe. This historic encounter with the Master will be at the origin of his future practice and of this devotion to teach around him this martial way very similar to a Bubo. It is on that occasion that he was sponsored by Paolo Coralini and accepted as a Uchi Deshi. (A boarding student living next to the master).

Other sessions will follow and enable Jean-Marc to learn and improve his techniques. In April 1994 he goes to Japan for the 1st time to the dojo of the founder, to study near Master Saito and achieve his dream, be in direct contact with the roots of this art. From that day onward, he will go every year to the Dojo of the founder. O Sensei, to keep up with his technique and improve it, often accompanied by his students on the occasion of one of these sessions, Master Saito will grant him the grades of :

- 1rst Dan Iwama Ryu and Aikikaï de Tokyo on August 1993
- 2nd Dan Iwama Ryu and Aikikaï de Tokyo on April 1997
- 3rd Dan Iwama Ryu and Aikikaï of Tokyo on May 1999
- 4th Dan Iwama Ryu on December 2001

- In 1997 Saito Sensei authorized Jean-Marc to deliver the ranks of the school Iwama Ryu. JeanMarc also attends regularly the sessions Master Saito holds in Europe (Germany, Italy and Denmark);there have been about twenty participations

Since his master's death on May 13, 2002, Jean-Marc has continued to follow the practice with training courses of Paolo Corallini who help him to obtain the grades of :

- 4th Dan Aikikaï of Tokyo on January 2005
- 5th Dan Aikikaï of Tokyo on January 2010
- 6th Dan Aikikaï of Tokyo on January 2016

- 5th Dan Iwama Takemusu Aikidoon october 2005
-
6th Dan Iwama Takemusu Aikido on november 2010

To September 1993 at July 2012, Jean-Marc has been teaching traditional Aïkido at the dojo of Villeneuve la Garenne
The practice taught at the dojo is strictly the same as the one taught at the dojo in Iwama, Japan where Master Saito, 9th Dan Aïkikaï, in charge of Master Ueshiba's dojo, continues with the traditional teaching his master has transmitted to him.
