(b. 21 December 1943). 6th dan Aikikai/Birankai International (2002). Aikido Instructor and artist. B. in Hounslow, Middlesex, England. First taught aikido by Ben Sekishiro in 1978 while at the University of California, San Diego studying for a visual arts degree. In 1981, began training with T.K. CHIBA in San Diego. Certified instructor (shidoin) of the United States Aikido Federation, Western Region. Also teaches iaido and practices zazen. Co-author with artist Joyce Cutler-Shaw of Aikido Conversations in Drawings and Words (1999). Chief Instructor of North County Aikikai, Solana Beach, California.
